About the Author
Judy was born in Concord, North Carolina, but has lived in Georgia since 1972. Her debut publication is a memoir of her family’s history and its effect on the main character of the story, her mother, as well as herself. It is a book about adversity, violence, and instability, but it is also about courage, determination, creativeness, and faith.
In addition to authoring this book, Judy is an artist, writer of poetry and short stories.
She attended the University of West Georgia where she majored in Art and minored in Creative Writing. Judy maintained a grade point average of 3.7 out of a possible 4.0 while in school and graduated in 2016 (three months before her seventy-forth birthday). She received honor awards from Alpha Lamba Delta National Academic Honor Society for Freshmen, was an Ingram Scholar with Ingram Scholars University of West Georgia for four years, a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Judy’s inspiration for her book is the hope it helps readers understand all things are possible in life no matter how it begins.
Her moto is “Never Give up. Hope Delivers Us.”
